Ice Ice Baby

Tough day here at Northeast Chic World Headquarters.  We awoke in the middle of the night to water dripping in like crazy.   In cold climates there’s a phenomenon called “ice dams,” the snow melts on the warm part of the roof, then runs to the edge and re-freezes, there that water gets trapped;  if you get enough water build-up it runs under the shingles and into said house.  NOT. GOOD. AT. ALL.  Finding someone quickly to come and help fix it is a challenge.  Luckily, I found a very nice roofer (did you hear angels singing just then?) who came right away and will be back tomorrow to make sure it’s all squared away.  Next stop, spring and a new worry and drip free roof.

Jumping for joy when the water slowed to just a trickle.

It’s the little things am I right 🙂
