White Before Memorial Day?!

Growing up it was always verboten to wear white one minute before Memorial day.  Well, take this fashion rules!

White pants – Banana Republic
Striped Long Sleeved Tee – Old Navy
Blazer – Gap
Black Sandals – Aerosoles ( cute and comfy )
Belt – Target

hahaha. I grew up with that rule too. Sometimes we could get away with wearing white for Easter though :-). But do I still see snow in the background of your pictures? Nice outfit — how do you pick your blazers. Whenever I go out looking for them, it seems like they’re always missing the skirt to go with them (as in it should be part of a suit ensemble). .

I think that rule might finally be a thing of the past. I too remember how growing up it really was a fashion DON’T. But it’s interesting now that you mention it — I haven’t heard anything about the NWBMD rule for a few years now…

And yet if I put on a pair of white (not off-white) shoes before Memorial Day I’d feel uneasy. It’s that embedded in my consciousness. But white clothing I wouldn’t think twice — just the shoes for some reason.

Gorgeous white slacks! Looks fabulous with the red striped top & the belt!

  3. Look at you, getting all rebellious and patriotic at the same time. Those pants fit you amazingly, and I love the blazer. So sharp.

This is so fun! I’ve been eyeing my white jeans and wondering if I should wait until the end of April or not! Love that you are disregarding all those silly rules, you look fabulous.

That blazer is gorgeous! I bought a faded denim blazer from Gap last year — from the 1969 collection (isn’t that what they called it?) — but it’s always made me look kind of like a linebacker. Yours is perfect!
